How To Survive Academic Competition

Competition is a natural part of many situations in life, and it can even be a motivator. Unhealthy levels of competition, on the other hand, can leave you feeling pressed, jealous, anxious, and deeply frustrated. However, by developing and following guidelines for getting along well with others, as well as practicing good thought habits, you can work more efficiently and feel better about yourself.

You may feel terrible if somebody gets a higher grade than you. They may become upset if you receive a higher grade. You must only focus on what grades you received and how you can make it better. In general, sharing grades is a bad idea. We frequently make comparisons to others. Every one of us excels at something different. Instead of focusing on what others are doing, consider what you enjoy and want to do.

Tip #2: On exam days, isolate yourself.

On the day of a huge test, try not to chat with anyone else in your class. Their anxiousness may make you nervous as well. You’ll be in a better mood to take the test if you keep to yourself. It is not a good idea to discuss with your friends before an exam. You may clear your doubts or even discuss a few pointers. But it should be within a limit and not increase your stress.

Tip #3: Always remember to help others.

To put it another way, treat others as you would like to be treated. That way, they’ll want to assist you in the future. Make a change by being friendlier if you want your academic environment to be less competitive. When you are under the stress of competition, take a moment to consider how others are feeling.
