A college with a better stature will be able to greatly enhance your chances of achieving your dream engineering career. If you are keen to get admission into the top engineering colleges in Thrissur or Palakkad, like Nehru College of Engineering and Research Centre or Jawaharlal College of Engineering and Technology, then you have already made a great start.
So how to apply for an engineering course at Nehru college? A lot of young people are confused when it comes to getting admission into an engineering college after finishing their 12th, most likely due to a lack of good counselling and supervision. Such a situation can result in wasted opportunities to enter reputed institutions and will gradually result in frustration and a lackluster start to one’s career.
When there is a lack of direction and good guidance, time will be lost searching for answers when it can be better spent on gearing up for competitive entrance exams and admission procedures. Candidates who are not alert or informed about ongoing trends will not be able to survive the intense competition of today’s entrance exams, and will be eliminated from the race. Let us look at how to apply for engineering courses at NGI after completing 12th standard.
Prior to applying for admission, it’s important to know about the scope and possibilities of the different branches of engineering as there are a huge number of choices awaiting you. If you get admitted into the top engineering colleges in Thrissur or Palakkad, job opportunities will be available not just in India, but in other countries as well. An engineering background is very much preferred among recruiters, which is why many top firms typically choose fresh talent from Nehru colleges every year, and that also by paying generous salary packages right during campus placement.
Of over 20 specialisations available in engineering today, some of the most popular disciplines comprise Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, Mechatronics, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, and more. There are two types of engineering entrance exams, categorised into national level entrance exams and state level entrance exams. If a student qualifies in the state-level engineering entrance exam, then he or she can get admission anywhere in the state, while a student who gets a good rank in the national level engineering entrance exam can theoretically get admission anywhere in India. In some colleges where the states conduct their own engineering entrance exams for the process of admission, seats are accordingly reserved for those who take the state-level entrance exams as well as for those who take the national-level entrance exams.
What about admission into an engineering college without entrance exams? This is where private colleges come in, offering direct admission to students under the management quota without the need for qualifying in an entrance exam.
Once the entrance exam results are released, the admission procedure starts for various engineering colleges, and is conducted in different ways by different bodies. If you have qualified in the JEE Main exam, then you must register with the Joint Seat Allocation Authority, attend the counselling session, choose the college for which they are qualified, pay the fees and submit verified documents to complete the admission process. It is a similar process for students who have appeared for state-level entrance exams conducted by the state bodies.
As mentioned earlier, if the student hasn’t appeared for any entrance exam and wants to get entry into private engineering colleges in Thrissur or Palakkad after 12th, he or she must visit the college website and submit a separate form. They can also complete the admission process by visiting and paying the fee directly at the college.
