Nehru Group of Institutions Launch PK Das Snehanidhi Scheme to Support Needy Families

To help needy families living below the poverty line, where women are the sole breadwinners, the Nehru Group of Institutions has launched the PK Das Snehanidhi Project. In the initial phase, the humanitarian project will benefit 30 families in Vaniyamkulam panchayath, and later on the scheme will be extended to benefit 200 families. In addition to a monthly financial assistance of Rs.1500, each family will receive community healthcare and food kits in the first phase, overseen by the Community Medicine Department of PK Das Medical College.

The needy families, who had submitted applications to PK Das Hospital, were selected by a panel of experts after verifying their eligibility and will receive full assistance in the first week of every month. Implemented in loving memory of the late PK Das, visionary and founder of the Nehru Group of Institutions, the Snehanidhi project was inaugurated by Nehru Group Chairman Adv. Dr. P. Krishnadas, who visited each household in person to offer assistance. Group CEO Dr. P. Krishnakumar, Director of Operations Dr R. C. Krishnakumar, PK Das Medical College Head of Biochemistry Department Dr. Jagatlal, M. Srinivas and Sivakumar were also present.
